How it works

1. You a lease a part of the project.
2. The project produces Carbon Offset Credits.
3. You receive 200 credits per year per unit for the next 50 years.
4. Use the credits to offset your emissions for the next 50 years.

The details

You buy a unit or more of rainforest land in Costa Rica. The land you invest in is a part of a Carbon Offset Reforestation project which creates fully accredited Carbon offset credits according to international standards. The credits produced are regulated, registered and allocated by an official body, and awarded to you once a year. Just like buying credits from a broker, you receive certificates for your credits and can use them to offset you carbon emissions.

Because you are buying directly into the project rather than via a broker, you get the credits at cost price rather than retails price, cutting out several middle men. A credit that would retail for at least $10 US can be acquired by you for just $1.33 when you buy into the project.

One unit is currently priced at $12,000 US and creates 200 carbon offset credits per year, for a 50 year term. You are free to sell your land (for an estimated profit) if you decide to stop offsetting your emissions. You are also free to sell any surplus credits (please see green investment section).
