Costa Rica is home to about 5% of the world's biodiversity so maintaining its natural resources is essential. There are more species of exotic bird in Costa Rica than the whole of North America, it boasts 200 different species of hummingbird alone. 10,000 species of plants, 850 species of birds, 800 species of butterflies, 500 species of mammals, reptiles, and amphibians call this amazing country their home.
The Carbon Offset Reforestation Project actively protects and restores the natural habitat of a broad variety of animals, birds, reptiles and insects.
The Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species (CITES) reports that Costa Rica is home to several threatened and endangered species, including 16 bird species, 13 mammal species, 8 reptile species, 2 amphibians, and dozens of plants, so your investment will be saving them from possible disappearance.
