Reforestation & management

Reforestation is a gradual process consisting of planting indigenous plant and tree species on agricultural land.

The land used for reforestation is deforested land, located adjacent to the existing rainforest. Trees are planted in random succession as opposed to rows and are managed by fully qualified and experienced forestry engineers.

This ensures the most natural forest possible and the fluid migration of animals from their existing habitat to the reforested areas. The reforested trees will absorb varying levels of CO2 during their development, and this will be measured and monitored throughout to ensure the correct number of carbon offset credits are being allotted.

Management

Management of the project is currently being undertaken by a local company who provide additional employment to the Costa Rican people due to our project.

The land is protected from poachers and squatters by guards living on-site. Investors are responsible for their own management but Silva tree can recommend a local company for this.
